Useful Quotes That Stuck with Me See all

The Meaning of Life is to Find Your Gift. The Purpose of Life is to Give It Away

—Pablo Picasso (on social media, anyway.) Quote Investigator says David S. Viscott, with a slight nod at Ralph Waldo Emerson. Picasso sounds nice tho.

I think I’m becoming more spiritual.

Lately, I’ve been meditating on the notion of ‘Non-duality’:

There is no you, and them. No me, in the world.

It’s all one. We’re all here, now. Together. In this present moment.

Sure, there has been. And something will be.

But, now? Here? However; wherever, we find ourselves, in any given moment?

All we have is us. Let’s make it count.

Plant a tree. Choose life

I guess the reason this particular quote stuck with me, is because of how it adds to some key insights I’ve had over the years, building on them:

Like, how eg. Seth Godin speak of artists and gifts, in Linchpin (2009). Or, how the Japanese concept of Ikigai is such a powerful framing of ‘purpose’.

Give without expectation. Create without hesitation. Love without reservation.
